CBD oil information

What is CBD oil

What is CBD oil? CBD oil is a dietary supplement that consists of a vegetable oil mixed with CBD. There is a good chance that you already knew this, because CBD oil has been becoming increasingly popular for years. However, there is much more to tell about CBD oil.

On this page we answer a number of practical questions that live with many people. In addition, we tell a few things about the background of CBD oil.

We wish you a lot of reading pleasure. And if you still have questions, don't hesitate to contact us. We will then do our best to help you as well as possible.

What is CBD?

The most important content of CBD oil is cannabidiol. For convenience, this is usually shortened to CBD. Hence the name: CBD oil. Quite logical right? But what exactly is cannabidiol? Let us start with that question.

CBD is a substance that occurs in hemp. Now there are many more fabrics in hemp, so what makes CBD so special? This has to do with the fact that CBD has a favorable effect on health. CBD oil affects the immune system, the nervous system and the skin in a positive way.

In the past, CBD was mainly extracted from industrial hemp because there is virtually no THC, but relatively much CBD. Nowadays, hemp is used specially grown for the production of CBD oil. This hemp contains even more CBD and even less THC.

Composition CBD oil

In the introduction we already indicated that CBD oil consists of a vegetable oil (the mixing material) through which CBD (the contents of the content) has been mixed. However, there is more to say about the composition of CBD oil.

ingredients CBD oil
In the first place, CBD oil often also contains other useful substances in addition to CBD. These are, for example, CBG, CBN and CBC. CBD oil RAW is the dietary supplement that contains these other substances in addition to CBD.

You can also buy nutritional supplements with only one of those other substances: CBG oil, CBN oil and CBC oil. These substances are found in much smaller quantities in hemp than CBD. That is why these dietary supplements are more exclusive than CBD oil.

Finally, you can also buy CBD oil with only CBD. This is called cbd-oil pure . If you want your CBD oil to contain absolutely no THC, choose CBD oil pure, because this oil contains 0.00% THC.

Mixing dust CBD oil
In principle, every vegetable oil is suitable as a mixing material for CBD oil. However, nowadays only hemp seed oil is used as a mixing material. This means that all ingredients of CBD oil come from the same raw material: hemp.

The biggest advantage of hemp seed oil as mixed dust is that this vegetable oil contains healthy substances that are mainly in the seeds of the hemp plant. This concerns, for example, unsaturated fatty acids Omega 3 and Omega 6, Gammalinolic Acid, Vitamins and Minerals.

How does CBD oil work?

To understand the principle of CBD oil, we now have to become a bit technical. If it gets too much for you, safely skip this explanation. Later in this article it will be more concrete if we discuss the applications of CBD oil.

To understand the functioning of CBD oil, you must first of all know that scientists have discovered a body system that one indicates as: endocannabinoid system. For the sake of convenience, we reduce that as ECS.

Essential part of the ECS are the CB1 and CB2 receptors. The human body produces substances that can adhere to these receptors. These substances are called endocannabinoids. The prefix endo means body's own.

Due to the adhesion of endocannabinoids to the CB1 and CB2 receptors, a chain of biochemical reactions starts that influences other body systems such as the immune system, the nervous system, muscle mass and the skin.

Now it appears that not only endocannabinoids can attach themselves to CB1 and CB2 receptors, but the same also applies to certain substances from hemp. We call those substances cannabinoids.

The most famous cannabinoid is cannabidiol (CBD), but also cannabigerol (CBG), cannabinol (CBN) and cannabichromene (CBC) are examples of cannabinoids.

In summary, we can say: by intake of CBD oil you influence the ECS so that you indirectly also influence other body systems. The effect of CBD oil is based on this principle.

for which CBD oil use?

Science is increasingly discovering about the medicinal potential of CBD oil, but this is a slow process. The number of studies is small, the groups of test persons are often small and every now and then investigations contradict each other. In short, there is still a long way to go before there is consensus about the usefulness of CBD oil in the medical world.

However, there is what the daily practice shows us. Many users testify to the positive effect that CBD oil has on their lives. We also see a growth in the number of doctors who are enthusiastic about the therapeutic effect of CBD oil.

but where does all that enthusiasm come from? What do people use CBD oil for?

Lighting of pain

Many people use CBD oil for the relief of pain. This applies in particular to people with a certain form of rheumatism such as osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia.

Scientific research has also been done into the analgesic effect of CBD:

In a study with test animals, it was discovered in 2005 that CBD can have a positive effect on osteoarthritis. And in 2012, during a test with laboratory animals, it came to light that CBD inflammation pain and neuropathic pain could suppress.

The University of Nottingham discovered that cannabis oil also reduces inflammation in joints.

Finally, the relaxing effect of CBD oil can help reduce stress and therefore also pain complaints can decrease.

sleeping problems

Everyone sometimes has trouble falling asleep, but if that happens every night, then that can have a big impact on your daily functioning. According to some scientists, around 30% of all people have serious sleeping problems.

If you do not want to use heavy sleeping tablets, CBD oil can offer a good alternative. Various studies show that CBD can remove the causes of sleeping problems by reducing physical pain, stress and anxiety, for example.

Anxiety and stress

In 2011 an article appeared in the scientific journal Journal of Psychopharmacology about the relationship between CBD and social fears. The authors of this article wrote that their research suggests that CBD can offer lighting to people with anxiety disorders.

In the same year the results of a Research into the influence of CBD and speak in public. The scientists discovered that preventive administration of CBD ensured that people were much less troubled by board fright.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), depression is the most common disease in the world. To prevent depression, heavy antidepressants are often prescribed.

These drugs often have a long list of possible side effects such as dizziness, aggression, insomnia, headache, etc. and some antidepressants can be very addictive (eg benzodiazepine). And with prolonged use, some antidepressants can also lead to permanent damage to the body. In short: it doesn't make you happy.

That is why it may be worthwhile to look for alternative therapies to prevent depression. CBD oil can play a supporting role in this because CBD can reduce anxiety and stress.

Unfortunately, test subjects have not yet been tested or CBD helps with diabetes, but research is available with laboratory animals.

For example, an article was published in 2006 about a study with diabetic mice in which the CBD turned out to have a favorable effect.

And in 2015 scientists discovered in a study with mice that the anti -inflammatory effect of CBD can also bring lighting to diabetes 2.

Skin problems

In addition to CBD oil you will also find skin creams with CBD in our webshop and that has a good reason. It appears that CBD is not only beneficial for the inside of your body, but also for the outside.

CBD is an effective remedy for skin problems such as eczema, acne and psoriasis. In the case of acne, Scientific research is done about this. This shows that CBD helps against inflammation as a result of acne and CBD reduces sebum production in the skin so that pimples are less likely to occur.

immune system

CBD oil can make an important contribution to regulating the immune system.

The immune system works so that it works when harmful bacteria and viruses penetrate the body. However, the immune system may also not exaggerate. For example, with autoimmune diseases the body reacts all-in to things that do not require such a fierce reaction.

NOW now shows Research that CBD can strengthen the immune system. And CBD can slow the immune system when a violent reaction is not necessary.

Which CBD oil is the best?

As we indicated at the start of this article, CBD oil RAW contains not only CBD, but also other useful hemp fabrics such as CBG, CBN and CBC. For that reason we also call CBD oil RAW CBD oil Full Spectrum. We personally prefer this CBD oil raw.

The presence of these other substances provides something that is known as the entourage effect. The entourage effect is the phenomenon that strengthens and vice versa the presence of substance B. This ensures a larger health effect.

CBD oil RAW contains a negligibly small amount of THC. Too little to get high, but for certain reasons you could wish that your body absolutely does not get a THC. In that case it is best to use CBD oil pure.

How do you use CBD oil?

The best way to take CBD oil is by dropping the correct number of drops under the tongue. Let the CBD oil rest there for about one minute before swallowing the stuff. The oral mucosa is very good at absorbing the CBD and other useful substances.

If the bitter taste of CBD oil is disappointing, we recommend that you try CBD capsules. Inside is CBD oil, but the cover is tasteless. By swallowing the capsule quickly you will not notice the taste of CBD oil.

What is the correct dosage CBD oil?

The correct amount of CBD for you depends on two factors:

  • low, average or high dose:

This mainly depends on how long you have already used CBD oil. If you are just starting, it is best to take a low dose. If your body is used to the CBD, you can increase the dose.

  • Your body weight:
The more you weigh, the more CBD oil you have to take for the same effect.

A good guideline for dosage per day is:

  • Low dose: 1 mg CBD per 5 kilos of body weight
  • Average dose: 3 mg CBD per 5 kilos of body weight
  • High dose: 6 mg CBD per 5 kilos of body weight

If you don't notice the CBD, you can increase the dose slightly. You can increase the dose something every day, but we advise you not to take any more than what we mention above at high dose.

Tip: Different bottles of CBD oil can contain different percentages of CBD. In our webshop you will find with the product description how many milligrams of CBD are in one drop.

how long before you notice something?

CBD oil works the fastest when you drop under the tongue and let the CBD oil rest there for one minute before swallowing. With this way of taking it takes about 20 minutes before you notice something from the CBD.

This can differ slightly per person. Some people will notice something after less than fifteen minutes and others have to wait more than half an hour.

At CBD capsules and CBD-Edibles it takes longer before you notice something.

How long does the effect of CBD oil last?

The effect of the CBD takes on average between 2 and 6 hours. Unfortunately, we cannot indicate more precisely, because every body is different. In this case too it is a matter of trying out.

Keep in mind the following: Your body needs time to build enough CBD in your body. That is why you may not notice anything the first day. Then do not immediately increase the dose. Only after a week did something of a balance occur in your body. Only then can you determine whether your daily dose is enough or whether you might have to increase the dose.

can you use too much CBD oil?

That is actually unknown. For safety, it sets Cannabinoids Advice Bureau A maximum: 160 mg per day. This standard is based on the lowest effective dose as can be found in clinical literature.

Difference CBD oil versus weed oil

The difference between CBD oil and weed oil is actually very simple: CBD oil contains no or a negligible small amount of THC. Weed oil does contain the mind -expanding THC. In fact: with weed oil, THC is the most important content. That is why we also call cannabis oil THC oil.

This means in the first place that it is almost impossible to get high from CBD oil. That risk does exist with weed oil.

Secondly, CBD oil is completely legal in the Netherlands and most other European countries. The production and trade of CBD oil has since been professionalized extensively. And producers regularly have their own products tested by independent laboratories.

It's different with weed oil. A small group of patients has a doctor's recipe and can legally buy very expensive weed oil in specialized pharmacies. For your own costs, because the health insurance does not pay.

All other people can only get weed oil by buying it in the gray circuit or by making yourself. There is no formal quality control here either.

Risk of side effects?

An overdose is not possible. Temporary side effects are possible, but then you must have taken a lot more than the maximum dose. If you adhere to the previously indicated guidelines with regard to dosage, then in practice the chance of side effects appears to be negligible.

Some users who seriously violate the maximum dosage told that they were suffering from:

  • Nausea
  • Diarrhea
  • Suffiness

cbd and medicines

Beware when you want to combine CBD oil with medicines. So first consult with your doctor if you take medicines and you are considering using CBD oil. Your doctor is better than assessing whether it is safe to combine your medicines with CBD oil.

In any case, there is a risk of a nasty interaction between CBD oil and medicine for the following medicines:

  • Medicines against Arithmie such as Kinidine
  • Anticonvulsiva such as Tegretol (carbamazepine) and vibration (Oxcarbazepine)
  • Antifimmel products such as Nizoral (Ketoconazole) and VFend (Voriconazole)
  • Antipsychotics such as Orap (PimoZide)
  • Atypical antidepressants such as Remeron (Mirtazapine)
  • Benzodiazepine sedativa such as Klonopin (Clonazepam) and Halcion (Triazolam)
  • immune -suppressing drugs such as Sandimmune (Ciclosporine)
  • Macrolid antibiotics such as Claritromycin and Telithromycin
  • Migraine medication such as ergomar (ergotamine)
  • Opioid painkillers such as Duragesic (Fentanyl) and Alfentanil
  • Medicines based on rifampicin used to treat tuberculosis

Tip: If the medicine package leaflet indicates that you should not drink grapefruit juice in combination with the medicine, then you should not use CBD oil in combination with this medicine. In all other cases: Consult your doctor.
