Afkicken van THC wiet
Given the many (positive) stories from our customers, we have decided to dedicate a special web page to the role that CBD can play in reducing/kicking the habit of THC use.
Disclaimer; we, the team at CBD Koning, are stoners who have been enjoying this Divine plant and its powers for quite some time (20+ years). In addition to experiences from our customers, the information on this web page also contains our findings as, well, experienced experts, so to speak...
The different types of THC weed
First we look at the different types of THC weed that are on the market in the Netherlands. Basically, the THC cannabis variety has an indica and a sativa variant. Both variants achieve a different physical goal and also differ in smell, appearance and therefore also effect.
An indica cannabis strain often produces a relaxed feeling. This THC strain relaxes the body and muscles, which quickly creates a binge watch moment and allows you to watch seasons of your favorite series without leaving the couch. Indica weed mainly has an effect on the body. Of course, you also get stoned in the head from indica weed, but in a different way than from sativa weed.
Sativa weed often gives users an 'up' feeling. Unlike indica weed, after smoking a sativa strain you could easily visit a festival without having to hit the couch. Sativa often produces a mental effect. Of course, you will certainly notice some physical effects of sativa weed, but it is much 'different' compared to the effect that indica weed provides.
The pitfall of sativa weed
Now you will think, what a great sativa weed, I must have it. Well, wait a minute!
Sativa weed therefore has a much stronger effect on your head/brain than is actually good for humans. At least, that's what we, the CBD Koning team, think. Sativa weed gives many users in our environment anxiety attacks, even a form of agoraphobia and this is always, always combined with paranoid ideas that often makes the brain overactive, causing the user to keep thinking about certain topics. Sleeping can also be terrible after smoking sativa weed.
Of course, indica weed also has its disadvantages, but these are limited to a certain laziness without necessarily the anxiety or other attacks described above that sativa weed produces.
In the more than 20 years that we as stoners have been mingling with other stoners, we can report with 99% accuracy that of all the enthusiasts we have seen die from cannabis use, sativa weed was their killer!
The hybrid Kush strains…
Same as the sativa strains, know what you're getting into! Kush varieties often come from America and Canada, where surpluses end up on the Dutch market. Kush is a strain that has grown enormously in popularity in Dutch coffee shops in recent years.
This 'premium' weed usually contains sativa roots and only borrows the smell and size of the indica variety. The mental effects of the sativa strain often overcome the physical indica effect, so that despite a hybrid composition, Kush in many cases produces the same effect as the sativa strain and a possibility of developing certain fears or limitations that are not appreciated.
This actually applies to all hybrid strains where the sativa dominance exceeds 40%.
Want to stop using THC
Now that it is clear which types of THC weed there are and what effects are associated with each type, it is time to consider quitting THC. Many users of THC products experience enormous withdrawal symptoms when stopping THC use. Terrible sleep, sweaty nights, shaky feelings during the day and just not being yourself anymore. Unfortunately, we at the CBD King team know it better than anyone else….
Fortunately, we think we have found a perfect solution in recent years in the form of CBD! CBD also triggers your endocannabinoid system, which means that a lot of receptors in your body do not notice that you stop taking THC, since CBD still activates this system!
Not only we, but also our customers notice that a number of withdrawal symptoms are greatly minimized by CBD. Naturally, the effect varies greatly per person and the amount of THC consumed, but to date we have received very positive messages from both our customers and private environments regarding the positive role of CBD in THC withdrawal!
The finishing process
You can apply tapering in different ways and again it varies per person and situation. It usually helps to start by reducing the THC content from 100% to 50% and supplementing the other 50% with CBD. The first joint/item is this combination of 50% CBD/50% THC with possibly the desired ratio of tobacco (substitute).
Because CBD weed tastes almost the same as THC, there will be no noticeable difference in the composition of the joint, as the weed and tobacco ratio remains identical. Once the body is used to the 50/50 CBD/THC, this can be further reduced to 75/25 CBD/THC to reach 100/0 CBD/THC.
Most people notice that during the reduction of THC, the stonedness does not really decrease and they feel just as stoned as before, even though there is now much less THC and more CBD. In addition, habits surrounding the use of THC are maintained because of the use of CBD as a replacement.
Again, every person is different and the above is purely an indication of how a reduction in THC can be initiated using CBD as a worthy 'THC replacement' for both the body and the person who wants to take this courageous step!
We can of course be reached by e-mail or telephone for more information about THC withdrawal in combination with CBD weed. Once more; The above is not medical advice, only the findings of our beloved customers and ourselves, a bunch of stoners who have been smoking weed for more than 20 years and have a passion for this wonderful plant! Always do your own research, test what you read and never blindly trust information from third parties!
