Everything about CBD oil

CBD oil is a dietary supplement consisting of a vegetable oil mixed with CBD. There's a good chance you already knew this, because CBD oil has been becoming increasingly popular for years. On this page we answer a number of practical questions that many people have. We also tell you something about the background of CBD oil. We wish you pleasant reading. And if you still have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will then do our best to help you as best as possible.

What is CBD?

The main ingredient of CBD oil is cannabidiol. For convenience, this is usually abbreviated to CBD. Hence the name: CBD oil. CBD is a substance found in hemp. Now there are many more substances in hemp, so what makes CBD so special? This has to do with the fact that CBD has a beneficial effect on health. CBD oil positively influences the immune system, the nervous system and the skin.
In the past, CBD was mainly extracted from industrial hemp because it contained virtually no THC, but a relatively large amount of CBD. Nowadays, hemp that has been specially grown for the production of CBD oil is used. This hemp contains even more CBD and even less THC.

Composition of CBD oil

CBD oil consists of a vegetable oil (the mixing substance) into which CBD (the substance) has been mixed. However, there is more to be said about the composition of CBD oil. First of all, CBD oil often contains other useful substances in addition to CBD. These are, for example, CBG, CBN and CBC. CBD Oil Raw is the dietary supplement that contains these other substances in addition to CBD. You can also purchase nutritional supplements containing only one of the other substances: CBG oil, CBN oil and CBC oil. These substances occur in much smaller quantities in hemp than CBD. That is why these nutritional supplements are more exclusive than CBD oil. Finally, you can also buy CBD oil containing only CBD. This is called CBD oil Pure. This oil contains 0.00% THC.

What mixing agent does our CBD oil have?
In principle, any vegetable oil is suitable as a mixing agent for CBD oil. However, nowadays people usually use hemp seed oil as a mixing agent. As a result, all ingredients of CBD oil come from the same raw material: hemp. The biggest advantage of hemp seed oil as a blending agent is that this vegetable oil contains healthy substances that are mainly found in the seeds of the hemp plant. This concerns, for example, unsaturated fatty acids Omega 3 and Omega 6, gamma linoleic acid, vitamins and minerals.

How does CBD oil work?

To understand the principle of CBD oil, we now have to get a little technical. If it's too much for you, feel free to skip this explanation. Later in this article it becomes more concrete when we discuss the applications of CBD oil. To understand how CBD oil works, you must first know that scientists have discovered a body system called the endocannabinoid system. For convenience, we abbreviate it as ECS. An essential part of the ECS are the CB1 and CB2 receptors. The human body produces substances that can attach to these receptors. These substances are called endocannabinoids. The prefix endo- means body's own. The attachment of endocannabinoids to the CB1 and CB2 receptors initiates a chain of biochemical reactions that affects other body systems such as the immune system, the nervous system, muscle mass and the skin. Now it appears that not only endocannabinoids can attach to CB1 and CB2 receptors, but the same also applies to certain substances from hemp. We call these substances cannabinoids. The best-known cannabinoid is cannabidiol (CBD), but cannabigerol (CBG), cannabinol (CBN) and cannabichromene (CBC) are also examples of cannabinoids. In summary, we can say: by taking CBD oil you influence the ECS, which also indirectly influences other body systems. The effect of CBD oil is based on this principle.

Science is discovering more and more about the medicinal potential of CBD oil, but this is a slow process. The number of studies is small, the groups of test subjects are often small and occasionally studies contradict each other. In short, there is still a long way to go before there is a consensus in the medical world about the usefulness of CBD oil. However, this is offset by what daily practice shows us. Many users testify to the positive effect that CBD oil has on their lives. We also see a growth in the number of doctors who are enthusiastic about the therapeutic effects of CBD oil.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), depression is the most common disease in the world. Strong antidepressants are often prescribed to combat depression. And with long-term use, some antidepressants can also lead to permanent damage to the body. In short: it won't make you happy. Therefore, it may be worthwhile to look for alternative therapies to combat depression. CBD oil can play a supporting role in this because CBD can reduce anxiety and stress.

Diabetes

Unfortunately, it has not yet been tested with test subjects whether CBD helps with diabetes, but there is research available with laboratory animals. For example, an article was published in 2006 about a study with diabetic mice in which CBD appeared to have a beneficial effect. And in 2015, scientists discovered in a study with mice that the anti-inflammatory effect of CBD can also provide relief from diabetes 2.

CBD oil can make an important contribution to regulating the immune system. The immune system works in such a way that it kicks in when harmful bacteria and viruses enter the body. However, the immune system should not exaggerate either. For example, in autoimmune diseases the body reacts all-in to things that do not require such a strong reaction. Now it appears recently research that CBD can strengthen the immune system. And CBD can inhibit the immune system when a severe reaction is not necessary.

Which CBD oil is the best?

As we mentioned at the beginning of this article, CBD oil Raw not only contains CBD, but also other useful hemp substances such as CBG, CBN and CBC. For that reason we also call CBD oil Raw also CBD oil Full Spectrum. Personally, we prefer this CBD oil Raw. The presence of these other substances creates something known as the entourage effect. The entourage effect is the phenomenon that the presence of substance B enhances the effect of substance A and vice versa. This ensures a greater health effect. Furthermore, your body weight is important. The more you weigh, the more CBD oil you need to take for the same effect. A good guideline for dosage per day is:
Low dose: 1 mg CBD per 5 kilos of body weight
Average dose: 3 mg CBD per 5 kilos of body weight
High dose: 6 mg CBD per 5 kilos of body weight.
If you do not notice anything from the CBD, you can increase the dose slightly. You can increase the dose slightly every day, but we advise you not to take more than what we mention above for a high dose. How long before you notice anything?

CBD oil works fastest when you drip it under the tongue and let the CBD oil rest there for one minute before swallowing. Some people will notice something after less than fifteen minutes and others will have to wait more than half an hour. With CBD capsules and CBD edibles it takes longer before you notice anything.

How long does the effect of CBD oil last?

The effect of the CBD lasts on average between 2 and 6 hours. Unfortunately, we cannot provide more precise information, because every body is different. In this case too it is a matter of trying. Keep the following in mind: your body needs time to build up enough CBD in your body. That is why you may not notice anything on the first day. Do not immediately increase the dose. Only after a week will something of a balance be created in your body. Only then can you determine whether your daily dose is enough or whether you may need to increase the dose.

That risk does exist with cannabis oil. Secondly, CBD oil is completely legal in the Netherlands and most other European countries. The production and trade of CBD oil has now been extensively professionalized. And manufacturers regularly have their own products tested by independent laboratories. It is different with cannabis oil. A small group of patients have a doctor's prescription and can legally buy expensive cannabis oil in specialized pharmacies. At your own expense, because health insurance does not pay. All other people can only get cannabis oil by buying it in the gray circuit or by making it yourself. There is also no formal quality control here.
